Jockey Training
The Frank Garza Jockey School in Southern California offers jockey training programs encompassing educational weeks of at least five days of schooling. The average school day includes real race track and stable work. In addition to jockey or exercise rider training programs offered at intermediate and advanced levels, the school has horse trainer and groom programs. Students may choose resident and non-resident options for study. Students graduate as competent professional members of the racing community. The jockey school was founded by Frank Garza, Jr., a jockey and trainer who began in the business in 1967 and has a family immersed in the business of racing horses. In addition to the school, he runs a racehorse boarding and training operation.

I attend Garza Jockey School for about a month. It was waste of my time and my parent money. When I first Mr. Frank nice and friendly. He told me and my parents the basic of the school. But once your their it's a whole different story. He Doesn't help you at all. At the time I was there, their where 4 of us. And sure enough one bye one started to leave the school. Oh plus in the afternoon we will clean stalls and feed horses 7 days of the week. I didn't sign up to get my groom license. Please someone needs to stop this man from stealing everyone money!!!
ReplyDeleteYes, Frank is nothing but a con man. The trainers at the track never had much regard for him, and considered his " school" to be a joke.
DeleteGrooming and feeding a horse is basic care. You NEED to learn that before anything else. As a jockey, if someone's going to lend you their horse to ride, you better know how to take care of it. Part of worling with horses is knowing how to take care of them, thats rule number one, usually before you even get on one. Youre borrowing his horses, atleast give back by helping out.
ReplyDeleteAlso, the school is meant for intermediate-advanced riders. If youre a beginner, then yes its going to feel like he didnt teach you anything....
