Jockey Training

The Frank Garza Jockey School in Southern California offers jockey training programs encompassing educational weeks of at least five days of schooling. The average school day includes real race track and stable work. In addition to jockey or exercise rider training programs offered at intermediate and advanced levels, the school has horse trainer and groom programs. Students may choose resident and non-resident options for study. Students graduate as competent professional members of the racing community. The jockey school was founded by Frank Garza, Jr., a jockey and trainer who began in the business in 1967 and has a family immersed in the business of racing horses. In addition to the school, he runs a racehorse boarding and training operation.
